Job Ad: Cricket Coach - Women and Girls 

Help lead our growing women and girls programs!

We're looking for the right person to be our dedicated senior women's coach in the team's first season on turf, and to work with our Head Coach and assistant coaches to develop our junior girls and bring them into senior cricket. Our Head Coach and coaching team will help you grow your skills as a coach, either as someone new to coaching or looking to step up to a club-wide program. 

With a picturesque base at Brunswick St Oval in Fitzroy North and a brand new turf pitch, the Edinburgh Cricket Club vision is to be a leading provider of women’s cricket in inner northern Melbourne.  To take the next step we are looking for an enthusiastic coach who wants to develop the team, the individual players and themselves. 

Edinburgh is one of Victoria’s leading and largest community clubs, with 10 senior and 30 junior sides (including a rapidly growing 4 junior girls’ teams).  Our senior women’s team plays at the highest level in the Cricket Victoria Women's Community Cricket Competition and are looking forward to our first season on turf.  We strive to be an inclusive club that provides cricket for everyone.

Are you our ideal coach?

Our ideal coach is passionate about women's sport and a great communicator.

  • Communication and interpersonal skills are vital along with a proactive attitude.
  • Interest in developing a diversity of players including competitive and social cricketers, juniors entering seniors and adults new to cricket. 
  • Ability to develop skills and game awareness with a group of diverse skill backgrounds.
  • Coaching qualifications would be an advantage, but the club is prepared to assist the right candidate in gaining accreditation.  

Prospective playing and non-playing coaches are all encouraged to apply.

The coach will be ably supported by the Director of Cricket, Head Coach, assistant coaches and our broader club coaching support.

Remuneration and length of contract will be negotiated with the candidate.  Hours will also be negotiated, but would involve 1-2 nights coaching mid-week and game day availability (generally Sunday) from August/September through to March.
